Artist's Description
On the small beach of PeΓ±Γ³n Blanco, in the south of Spain, cloudy days, and especially windy days, when there are no bathers and the beach is empty, are the days preferred by seagulls. That is their moment, and they enjoy it flying along the shore, walking in groups on the sand, sunbathing when a clearing opens in the clouds. These birds are larger than they appear when you see them flying in the distance or in a photograph, and their countenance is stern and stately, with an elegance of movement that attracts the eye. Above the beach, on a cliff that overlooks the beach and the blue and gray of the sea on a cloudy day, two seagulls rest for a while and enjoy the view.
About Angeles M Pomata
After more than a decade of clinical psychology private practice in Madrid, some years ago I moved to the National Park of Cabo de Gata on the south coast of Spain and started my career as a writer. The peculiar environment in my new home made me a self-taught painter, and over the years painting has become a professional activity.
