Artist's Description
The common kingfisher is a small sized bird, almost like a sparrow. It has vibrant and beautiful colors, typically blue upperparts, orange underparts and a long bill. It feeds mainly on fish, caught by diving, and has special visual adaptations to enable it to see prey under water. They fly rapidly, low over water, and hunt fish from riverside perches, occasionally hovering above the water's surface.
About Angeles M Pomata
After more than a decade of clinical psychology private practice in Madrid, some years ago I moved to the National Park of Cabo de Gata on the south coast of Spain and started my career as a writer. The peculiar environment in my new home made me a self-taught painter, and over the years painting has become a professional activity.
