"Egret In The Mist", from my latest commission.
Egrets are elegant, long-legged wading birds from the heron family, known for their slender bodies and striking white plumage. They are commonly found near water bodies such as ponds, lakes, marshes, and coastal areas, where they thrive in shallow waters rich in fish, frogs, and other small aquatic creatures. Their sharp, pointed beaks and graceful necks make them highly efficient hunters, often seen standing still or slowly stalking their prey before striking with precision. Egrets are also excellent fliers, with broad wings that allow them to glide effortlessly across wetlands.
A fascinating fact about egrets is their historical connection to the fashion industry during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Their beautiful feathers were highly sought after for decorative purposes in hats and clothing, leading to significant population declines due to overhunting. About Angeles M Pomata
After more than a decade of clinical psychology private practice in Madrid, some years ago I moved to the National Park of Cabo de Gata on the south coast of Spain and started my career as a writer. The peculiar environment in my new home made me a self-taught painter, and over the years painting has become a professional activity.
