The common kingfisher is a small sized bird, almost like a sparrow. It has vibrant and beautiful colors, typically blue upperparts, orange underparts, and a long bill. It feeds mainly on fish, caught by diving, and has special visual adaptations to enable it to see prey under water. They fly rapidly, low over the water, and hunt fish from riverside perches, occasionally hovering above the water's surface.
After more than a decade of clinical psychology private practice in Madrid, some years ago I moved to the National Park of Cabo de Gata on the south coast of Spain and started my career as a writer. The peculiar environment in my new home made me a self-taught painter, and over the years painting has become a professional activity. At first, using oil to capture the beautiful landscapes I enjoy watching every day, later employing new media, mainly watercolor, and broadening the object range. Thank you for visiting my gallery!
