What an amazing painting this is, Angeles!! My first thought was, "I love this little village", but then my next thought was, "Wait a minute...it's so desolate and it almost feels a little creepy and mysterious", lol..... I think it's very cool that it brought up these two opposite feelings in me! :)))vf

Your perception is totally right, Laurie. It was a duality about the place itself, a characteristic of many desert villages: on the one hand, the sites in which they are settled are idyllic, but on the other hand, their poverty and abandonment leave a cold and creepy atmosphere.
